Frank fits the mold of a Reagan Conservative who believes in limited government, fiscal responsibility, strong public safety, equal application of the rule of law, responsible environmental stewardship, transparency and accountability.
Frank D’Ambra III has been an active member of the communities in which he and his family have resided. In September of 2023, Frank moved with his extended family, including his wife Lisa, two daughters and three grandchildren to Martin County. Previously the family had lived In the Village of Tequesta for 20 years. During his time in Tequesta Frank served 5 terms as a Council Member serving as Mayor, Vice-Mayor, and Chairman of the Recreation Center Building Committee. Prior to Frank’s time on the Council, he served as Chairperson of the Tequesta Public Safety Pension Board and as a member of the Village’s Audit Committee.
Frank was born in Rhode Island and has since lived in almost every corner of the United States. Frank met his wife Lisa while attending law school at the University of Miami. He has over 30 years of experience in the retirement and financial services industry having held senior executive positions for Horace Mann Educators Corp., Swiss Re/Conning Investors and GE Financial Corporation. He was then a founding investor and COO in a local medical device start-up, Poiesis Medical.
He and Lisa are the proud parents of three grown children and are blessed with four grandchildren.

Frank is a results-driven professional with skills developed and demonstrated in multiple corporate and municipal settings. Relationships are key to success in both the public and private sectors, and Frank has earned a reputation as an excellent communicator, establishing and fostering productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating across all levels of an organization, and forming solid community partnerships.
As an executive in the private sector Frank focused on instilling a culture of continuous improvement, coaching and mentoring individuals and teams to achieve their professional best. His career has been marked by continuous progression to roles of increasing responsibility and scope. Frank's record of achievement is built on his ability to leverage strategic insight to develop long range plans, introduce process improvements to increase efficiency, and by listening to customers to develop desired solutions for their needs.
Frank has successfully led business operations with responsibility for over 400 employees, sales in excess of $4 billion, and assets of $10 billion. Working in the public sector has given Frank an in-depth understanding and appreciation for the multiple levels of regulation, including municipal, state, and federal requirements, and his attention to detail and organizational skills has helped in collaboration with others to deliver solid results for his community, increasing responsibility and scope.
Gathering data and listening to the needs and opinions of constituents enabled Frank to formulate strategies to meet identified needs, balance competing priorities, and find common ground for agreement. It is Frank’s goal to bring his visionary leadership, track record of operational excellence, and outstanding interpersonal skills to advancing the priorities and preferences of the residents of District 3 and all of Martin County.
